Achieving food security requires an integrated approach that addresses all forms of malnutrition, the productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers, resilience of food systems and the sustainable use of biodiversity and genetic resources.
Hunger and malnutrition remain two of humanity’s greatest challenges. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that 821 million people, or just over one in nine, live in hunger. Poor nutrition is an underlying cause of approximately 2.7 million childhood deaths each year. In addition, 155 million children are stunted and 52 million suffer from wasting. PHF is a proven and dedicated partner in the global effort to end hunger. Food assistance saves lives through addressing the most dire and immediate forms of food insecurity, while enhancing livelihoods, improving health and education, and empowering communities to become self-reliant.
Among the great challenges the world faces is how to ensure that a growing global population - projected to rise to around 10 billion by 2050 – has enough quality food to meet their nutritional needs for a healthy life. This for a planet experiencing increasing water and land scarcity, soil, land and biodiversity degradation and more frequent and severe weather events. The impact of climate change on agriculture compounds the situation.
Path to Humanity Foundation arranged a ration distribution ceremony among deserving members of impoverished community. More than 150 families were provided by the ration bags which is sufficient for a month for 5 to 5 members. Each ration bag was contained with basic grocery. We believes that a large size of population in Pakistan is deprived of the basic necessities of life.
However, there is a silver lining on the darkening sky in the form of NGO’s like Path to Humanity Foundation which has been doing philanthropic activities since the beginning of its foundation that even underprivileged ones can enjoy the festivity of Ramadan and reserve your reward by participating in this chain.
